Reading: Isaiah 45:18-21
The coming of Jesus into the world represents a new beginning both for God and his relationship with humanity, as well as with humanity and our relationship with God. The birth of Christ pierced the darkness forever.
The voices that influence and shape us affect the courses of our lives. Jesus promises that each of us will be given an advocate, a helper, who will be that divine voice of encouragement and strength. Today, we call that voice, the Holy Spirit. (Audio not available)
The creed tells us to believe in the holy catholic church but church history holds a checkered past. How can we reconcile the problematic history of the church and not forget all of the silent good it has done throughout the centuries.
