Eagles Nest Can-Do
May and June 2021
Eagle's Healing Nest is our May and June Can Do Charity
The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans estimates that on any given night, 200,000 veterans are homeless, and 400,000 veterans will experience homelessness during the course of a year. Veterans make up approximately 9 percent of all homeless adults. 91 percent are men, and 9 percent are women.
By state: Minnesota is #31 and highest is California with 10,836.
"Our veterans are not a number. ... They're our families," Eagle's Healing Nest founder Melony Butler said.
Please support our Minnesota veterans through the May/June Can Do collection for Eagles Healing Nest, which is a farm in Sauk Centre for homeless veterans, and a facility in Anoka for homeless women veterans. They never turn a veteran away based on what they can pay, even though the cost to house a homeless veteran is $35 per day per person.
