Help Delano UMC reach its proposed fundraising goal of raising $205,000 in 2020. This goal marks a 2% increase from the 2019 budget in order to expand the ministries of the church. Information and commitment cards are available at the information table. Please return a commitment card or fill out the electronic form by Nov 3rd. Thank you for your ongoing generosity and support. If you have questions regarding annual giving, please contact the office or Pastor Stina.
All students are invited to participate in the yearly Children’s Christmas Program. Rehearsals begin on Sunday, October 27th at 9:30am, and will meet weekly on Sunday mornings. There will be a dress rehearsal on Saturday, December 7th (9am-12), and the program will be during worship on Sunday, December 8th (10:30am). Thank you Terri Booth and Wendy Gilmer for directing this year's program.
Support Simpson Housing services by donating to the December Can Do Offering or through volunteering onsite. Delano UMC will be coordinating a meal at Simpson shelter on December 28th. Help is needed with preparing the food in the church kitchen on Friday, Dec 27th and serving at the shelter on Saturday, Dec 28th. If you would like to donate Christmas cookies for dessert, you may drop them off in the church kitchen anytime during the week before we service. Contact Connie Turnquist or the church office for more information.
This fall Mission Possible will be working with Love INC serving evening meals at the Fresh Start Program. The Fresh start program helps neighbors in need become more efficient by providing classes on finance, child care, cooking, home repair, etc. We would like to find a core group who would like to participate in preparing and/or serving a meal for 25 to 30 people. We are currently signed up to serve Monday Sept. 23 and December 2, 2019.
Celebrate the beauty of Christmas with Delano UMC. On Sunday, Dec 22nd (10;30am) we will have a special Traveler's Christmas Eve service, filled with all the trimmings of Christmas Eve at a time that fits your schedule. On Tuesday, Dec 24th (3pm) we will have a high energy, kid friendly service geared toward our most energetic folks. Later that evening (10pm), there will be a traditional Christmas Eve service complete with communion and candlelight.
