BAPTISMS
Baptism is a sacrament that celebrates the presence of God’s Spirit in a person’s life through the blessing of water. As United Methodists, both children and adults are welcome to be baptized. At Delano UMC, all persons are welcome to be baptized, regardless of membership. Generally, baptisms occur during the Sunday morning worship service. WEDDINGS
As two people begin to make plans to join their lives together and establish a home, our church rejoices with them and is eager to help make their wedding both beautiful and meaningful. Delano UMC performs weddings for both members and nonmembers. Our sanctuary holds up to about 180 guests and has both the benefits of traditional stained glass as well as modern screens and other elements. For couples considering having a wedding a Delano UMC, please contact the church office regarding building availability. We prefer that the wedding be officiated by our pastor. If other arrangements are needed, please speak with the pastor in advance.
FUNERALS
Following the death of a loved one, Delano UMC is here to be a source of comfort in your time of loss. Please contact the church office at 763-972-3492 for immediate assistance. If the office is not open, please leave a message with the pastor’s voicemail box for quicker assistance. We are here to help you coordinate a funeral, memorial service, or other gatherings that are desired to honor the life of your loved one, either on church grounds or at a location of your choosing.
OTHER BUILDING USE
Delano UMC has a great facility to host family gatherings and community group meetings. If you are interested in renting the facility, please contact the church office with information about your event needs. Groups often use our fellowship hall, which is a multipurpose space that can seat up to 100 people comfortably. We also have smaller gathering spaces available as well. Be sure to check out the church calendar to see if there is available space.
